I have spent many years offering world class customer service in retail work environments, I strive to offer excellent service, I have a deep understanding of how to fulfill my clients requirements while exceeding their expectations, I can do the same for you.
My purpose is to impact as many people as possible in a positive way through my faith in Jesus Christ, interactions, and work.

Frontend Developer
I have been writing code for longer than I have been designing, but here is a visual representation of my educational and professional story. I hit a few road blocks, but with perseverance, I achieved my goals.
Graduated from High school
Participated in music program and engineering program. Was introduced to electronics through Vex Robotics. I also attended the local community college using concurrent enrollment while in high school and I learned about coding, design, and other academic subjects but I did not follow any degree path. I applied to most UCs, Stanford and some state colleges, only one of them accepted me, SFSU, but was not offering any scholarship, I did not have the money to go so I waited for a better opportunity.
Worked and Attended Community College
Attended a community college with the intent to transfer to Purdue University and worked as a barista at a local cafe. I only completed the necessary requirements for late admission to Purdue University. I was not going to let college admission rejections stop me from receiving a higher education.
Accepted into Purdue University!
Accepted into Purdue University with a partial scholarship. The entire path set before me consisted of four obstacles: getting accepted into the university, getting accepted into the First Year Engineering College (FYE acceptance rate: 47% over the last 5 years as of 2022), getting accepted into the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and then graduate. Since I had one of the obstacles completed I was confident and willing to take the risk.
Accepted into First Year Engineering College
Accepted into the First Year Engineering college within Purdue University. Two more obstacles left. While I was at Purdue, I participated in the Engineering Projects in Community Service Course (EPICS) as part of a team that built a project called “A Fresh Start” that was recognize at UC Berkeley. I helped on the University 3D printing lab website. I also participated in the Minority Engineering Program (MEP), Black Student Union (BSU), and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
Dropped out of Purdue University
Forced to drop out due to finances. I was accepted on a partial scholarship thinking I would find another to finish my education. Unfortunately I was unable to afford the tuition to continue attending the university, and instead of taking out loans I made the tough decision to drop out after completing half of the education. I was frustrated and disappointed for a while, as I wanted that degree very much, the failure was painful but I wasn’t going to let it stop me and knew I had to find another way.
Enrolled In Community College Again
Started over at community college since the general education requirements were different from Purdue’s, and not all of my credits would transfer because it was an out-of-state university. I worked many different retail customer service jobs, while also learning more about fundamentals of Software Engineering, and volunteered at food banks, found a love for serving others and re-ignited my passion for writing code and solving problems, I also gained interest in UX/UI Design.
Graduated from Community College
Achieved an associates degree. I was grateful to have achieved this degree, but I was still dealing with my past educational failure, I didn’t even attend the graduation. Then I came across Udemy and completed a bootcamp in iOS app development among other courses on Udemy and I interviewed and landed a full time internship as an iOS developer for a pet tech company during my community college education.
Accepted into and Enrolled in California State University East Bay
Started my university education over at California State University East Bay with professional experience working full-time as a software engineer for a mid size company. I spent the beginning of my refreshed collegiate career doing side projects and odd software jobs for whoever needed my skills, all while still exploring Udemy and learning new tech to supplement my college education.
Graduated from California State University East Bay!
Landed a great part time software engineering position as a Flutter Developer at a growing fintech startup with great ambition and a strong team halfway through my education at East Bay. I graduated with honors as well as a focus in Mobile Development and Artificial Intelligence. After everything I reached my goal. Throughout it all I was thankful, for the journey, for believing I could accomplish it, for the hard work I put in, and for never giving up on myself. My education was a long road and success was at the end and around the corner. I am thankful.
Freelance Full-time (Self Employed)
After work at my last company ended, I decided to explore business opportunities as a freelancer and grow my network. Since then I’ve worked with some unique clients with interesting ideas, designing and developing software that makes people smile, delighting them with magical experiences. I spend much of my time learning and working while improving my skills. I truly hope my story can be an inspiration to a kid, someone, anyone with a dream achieving more in their education.
